Photographing Santorini…

The village of Oia in Santorini is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. I was very happy for the expressive clouds on this evening. I used a Nikon 24-70mm lens, one of my favorites to shoot the scene, with the trusty Nikon D3s mounted on a Feisol CT-3442 carbon fiber tripod. This tripod weighs just 2.31 lbs. and folds down to 19″ which is perfect for travel and everyday shooting. My gear packs away nicely in a Tamrac Expedition 5X backpack, very organized, easy for me to carry, and fits easily in the overhead bin for travel. My MacBook Air slips into a padded compartment, and there are lots of zippered pockets for photography essentials. I like gear that makes my job easier! I must look into that tripod – mine has to weigh 5 x as much !

Hi Kathy, it’s really a well designed tripod, and weight is a huge factor for me. This one is so light, I never hesitate to bring it anywhere.

So it folds to 19 inches with or without the ballhead?

Yes, WITH the ballhead, the legs invert and it all fits in a 20″ carrying case with a strap for throwing over the shoulder. Very handy.
