Castle in Infrared and Topaz Labs Star Effects…
One of my passions is photographing in infrared, and also photographing at night! This image combines both of my passions into one image. The castle Auf Schonburg was photographed in infrared in Bacharach, Germany, and the stars were photographed along the Mosquito Lagoon on Florida’s east coast. A really cool Action in Photoshop CS5 called Star Trails, rotates the stars for a realistic star trail effect! The images were composited in Photoshop to create a photographed-at-midnight look. Topaz Labs Star Effects created little starbursts from the pinpoints of lights in my star image! Star Effects produces endless combinations of stars for different effects, and you can show or hide stars within your image. Star Effects isn’t only about stars… the sun, moon, city lights, any light source can be accentuated in a variety of ways with Star Effects. You can save 15% off Topaz Labs products, including Star Effects with code DEBORAHSANDIDGE. For more about photographing in infrared, visit the Infrared Photography page of my blog, and visit this page for more info about photographing at night. Have fun shooting! ~ Deb
Fantabulous image Deb! Another example that shows you don’t take great images, you make them.
Quick gear question: I noticed you no longer list the Sigma fisheye lenses on your gear list. have you removed them from your bag? Is the Nikon you list a circular fisheye? Just curious….
Hi Gary, thank you for your great comment, love the word fantabulous! 🙂
That is an oversight, thank you for letting me know, corrected and updated to include the Sigma 8mm circular fisheye lens! The Nikon lens is a 16mm but rectangular format. Thanks again, ~Deb
