Create a vanishing point with your photos…

August in Florida can be hot and wet, but we get some spectacular storms and clouds. This pier was photographed as a storm was rolling in, the clouds changed by the moment. To create a disappearing vantage point, I used a Nikon 16-35mm lens. The 16-35mm accepts filters, compared to my 14-24mm lens which is too large to do so. With the 16-35mm, I used a 10 stop neutral density filter to soften the water and blur the clouds for a sense of motion. The leading lines of the pier converge at the horizon line, guiding the viewer to the clouds above. The image was converted to black and white for a timeless look. I hope you are enjoying summer!

A beautiful capture, and teaching description of (as you wrote)a truly timeless Florida scene.
