The white horses of the Camargue…
I’ve just returned from the south of France where I’ve been traveling for the past two weeks with friends. What a wonderful experience! I’ve always wanted to see Provence, and the lavender fields, sunflower fields and most of all, the beautiful white horses of the Camargue. I spent several days in the lovely coastal village of Cassis, which I can’t wait to visit again. Along the way I photographed with my Nikon D4, D800E, and the essential Induro CT113 tripod. This horse was photographed with the Nikon D4, Nikkor 80-400mm lens which allowed me to photograph the horses from a distance and up close, getting a variety of shots without changing lenses. This was one of the last shots of the evening before losing the light, and one of my favorites! The Camargue horses are very affectionate! I made a new friend with Rêveur (which means dreamer), one of the beautiful horses of the Manade Raynaud. This was a wonderful break for the photographer at work, taking more pictures and more traveling! 🙂
Now back to work! We just wrapped up the Badlands workshops, and registration is now open for next year. This week I’ll be speaking in Amherst, MA at NECCC for Nikon on creative techniques and infrared photography. In November, join me at Nature Visions in Virginia for a presentation on long exposure creativity. If you are attending PhotoPlus Expo, I’ll be speaking at B&H Photo Video Event Space on long exposure, I hope to see you there! Next stop is Iceland, there is a spot open if you would like to join me and Shiv Verma this September. India in January is full, however you can email me or Piper Mackay for any last minute cancellations. Digital Underground is taking off! Jason Odell and I have fabulous Las Vegas and San Antonio open for registration, filling up quickly. I hope to see you on a workshop or presentation… http://www.debsandidge.com/workshops Have a wonderful week!
Such a beautiful horse!! I really like the light background……
Thank you very much, Sheldon!
No visit to Provence is complete without a visit to the horses. Fun shoot and beautiful images. Love the spray/splash of the top image. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much, Mike, I’m so glad you like this shot. Provence is wonderful and I miss it already!
