The children of the Maasai Mara, infrared photography…

Being able to meet and spend time with the children of the Maasai was a special treat! These school children eagerly recited songs and demonstrated math skills, very smart kids along with being just adorable. They loved seeing their photos on the back of my camera! The Maasai are fascinating, and wonderful people. If you stay at a camp, you may well have a polite warrior with bow and arrow escort you to your tent at night.

This image was photographed with a Nikon D7000 converted with an R72 type infrared filter by Digital Silver Imaging. The image was converted to black and white with Nik Silver Efex Pro, on my Macbook Air while I am here in Nairobi. Interested in learning more about infrared? Join me for Digital Infrared Photography at BetterPhoto.com, class starts in July.  Hope to see you there!

Have a great weekend! ~ Deb

    Hi Deb,

Beautiful image! Looks like you are enjoying your latest trip!

Any reason you used Digital Silver Imaging to convert your Nikon to IR and not Life Pixel? just curious…
