Lo-fi fun in Photoshop…

I’m a big fan of the Hipstamatic and the Lomo apps. I confess to taking lots of pictures with the iPhone just for the vintage effects that the apps create. It makes shooting with a camera phone just way too fun! I wanted to work with the Lo-fi look in Photoshop with my digital images. A digital camera creates such perfect imagery, it’s so cool to alter the look with an antique camera, or toy camera and film look. Light leaks, vignettes, blurs, and sometimes quirky colors all work together for a certain charm. This photo was created using Alien Skin Exposure 3 with the color film Agfa RSC II and Lomo LC-A type camera.  I love the rich colors, vignette and the slight distortion that enhances the look. I added a little grunge treatment to the edges as a finishing touch.  Have fun in Photoshop! Experimenting with the film photography look can be very addictive. ~ Deb

I’ve walked this pier more than a few times and have always been looking forward to take photos, but not looking back as you have done. A lovely shot created Hipstamatic style.

    Hi Lynnylu,
I’m glad you enjoy this pier as much as I do. San Francisco is very photogenic. Thank you for your lovely comments! ~ Deb

I have a simpler approach – I just scan some of my old Ansco and Ektachromes from 50 years ago.
