Spring is perfect for infrared photography
Spring is my favorite time to get out and shoot in infrared! The world can look magical and surreal, just by changing things up, and photographing with an infrared converted camera. Infrared photography is one of my passions, and I’m sure it will quickly become one of your passions too! The easiest way to photograph in infrared is to use an infrared converted camera. Digital Silver Imaging is offering a May IR Conversion Sale. You can save 10% on infrared camera conversions by using code sandidge13 plus get free return shipping on your converted camera. This is really great savings and perfect timing for spring infrared photography. The hardest decision will be which infrared conversion type to go with, several wonderful choices! If you would like to read more about infrared, check out my book on Amazon, Digital Infrared Photography. Post processing infrared images is a breeze with the Nik Collection from Google. Nik Silver creates a beautiful and traditional black and white look with precise editing options. This is the Old Point Comfort Lighthouse in Fort Monroe, Virginia near where Dr. Jason Odell and I held a workshop this past week. I brought several extra infrared cameras for everyone to try out. Infrared is very addictive, and our workshop attendees had a blast working through creative ideas with color and texture! We held an image review session at the end of the workshop, and Jason and I were impressed by how unique and beautiful their photos were. I’m very much looking forward to our next workshop at the Badlands, and the opportunity to work with infrared with dramatic landscapes.
I’ll be bringing my infrared cameras to Canada this August for workshops in Toronto and in Ontario. If you would like to join us on a a Canadian Caravan where we explore everything in the Kawartha region, shoot me an email, or visit this link 2013 Canadian Caravan. If you are in Toronto, please join us for a one day workshop, more details here Day with Deb Sandidge in Toronto. Have fun shooting in infrared!
